The long-standing relations between Ghana and the Republic of Korea were emphasized by Korean ambassador Park Kyongsig, who also discussed a number of topics to foster future collaboration.

Polly Ioannou, of the Republic of Cyprus, who is based in Cairo, Egypt, but maintains a diplomatic mission in Accra, stated that talks are in progress regarding the possibility of Cyprus and Ghana establishing an educational partnership through scholarship grants on maritime security and other cutting-edge security areas.

Ireland’s Peter Ryan briefly discussed Ghana and Ireland’s shared commitment to multilateralism as well as their respective roles in maintaining international peace.

According to Swedish ambassador Annika Hahn-Englund, fostering trade and economic ties as well as ensuring that Swedish businesses in Ghana are supported by mutual benefit and cooperation are her top priorities.

Regarding multilateralism, she also congratulated Ghana for concluding her term on the UN Security Council with success and urged Ghana to keep up the pressure to reduce the number of political takeovers occurring throughout the sub-region.

Mahlaba Almon Mamba, the High Commissioner of the Kingdom of Eswatini, wished Ghana well on its approaching anniversary of independence, as well as on its successful hosting of the 13th African Games and Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Ghana’s Foreign Minister, on her successful candidacies for the Commonwealth Secretary General post.

South Sudan’s David Buom Choa promised to work with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in a concerted effort to strengthen ties between the two nations.

As the new envoys started their tour of duty in Ghana, President Akufo-Addo wished them well and promised to make sure that their efforts would further strengthen the friendship and ties between Ghana and their home countries.
