American actress Susan Alexandra “Sigourney” Weaver was born on October 8, 1949. She has been nominated for three Academy Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards, a Tony Award, a British Academy Film Award, two Golden Globe Awards, and a Grammy Award. Weaver became famous when she played Ellen Ripley in the 1979 science fiction film Alien, which was directed by Ridley Scott.
