In the team’s locker room, Sergio Aguero smoked a cigar while celebrating Argentina’s World Cup victory.

The former football player watched his team’s victory from the stands at Lusail Stadium.

The 34-year-old joined the Argentina team a few days prior to yesterday’s victory in Qatar via a penalty shootout.

Despite a 120-minute battle between Lionel Messi and his teammates and France, the teams could not be separated since they both scored three goals.

But penalties—in which Gonzalo Montiel scored the game-winning penalty—were ultimately used to break the deadlock.

Aguero uploaded a video of himself smoking a cigar after the game, during the team’s raucous celebrations.

He was also criticized by former Chelsea player John Terry for sporting an Argentina jersey in a manner reminiscent of the defender’s attire following his country’s Champions League victory in 2012.

He adds, “Campeones del Mundo,” or “World Champions,” as he puffs on his cigarette.

For his 26.6 million Instagram followers to see, he posted it on his story.

One viewer who praised the video said:  “l am not crying. You are”.

Aguero resigned from football after learning that he had a heart issue while playing for Barcelona, therefore he was unable to participate in the competition.
