Seek counsel or walk out, don’t cheat on your ‘cheating’ husband – Rev. Charlotte Oduro advises women

Renowned marriage counselor, Reverend Charlotte Oduro, has shared valuable advice for women dealing with partners who are involved in extramarital affairs.

Instead of resorting to revenge by engaging in similar behavior, she suggests seeking counseling and assistance.

Mrs. Oduro emphasized the importance of not giving in to the temptation of cheating as a form of retaliation, as it can have severe consequences. She urged women facing difficulties in their marriages to consider leaving rather than succumbing to the pressure to cheat.

“I want women to understand that resorting to infidelity won’t resolve their issues. Don’t allow your anger to lead you to ruin your future. If you find it unbearable to cope with your husband’s infidelity, seek counseling or consider ending the marriage. Don’t respond to wrongdoing with more wrongdoing,” she advised.

Counselor Charlotte also criticized the societal acceptance of adultery and condemned women who, out of distress, follow men into extramarital relationships. She noted that many women feel compelled to retaliate against their partner’s infidelity due to the double standard in society.

Her counsel comes in light of a recent report by the Ghana Statistical Service, revealing that 2 in every 10 married Ghanaian men have engaged in extramarital affairs. The report indicated that 17.5% of married men have multiple partners outside their marriage, while 18.4% have been unfaithful to their spouses.

It is essential for women to prioritize their well-being and seek healthier ways to address marital issues rather than resorting to infidelity as a response to their partner’s unfaithfulness. Counselor Charlotte’s words of wisdom serve as a reminder of the importance of self-respect and seeking support during challenging times in a relationship.
