Police in India have made arrests in connection to a gun attack targeting Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s home.

The attack was reportedly carried out by members of the notorious Bishnoi gang, who were angry at Khan for killing two antelopes over 20 years ago, an act that offended their religious beliefs. The gang considers the animals sacred.

The suspects, Vicky Gupta, 24, and Sagar Kumar Palak, 21, were apprehended in Gujarat after confessing to their involvement in the shooting incident outside Khan’s apartment. Fortunately, no one was injured during the attack, as Khan and his family members were present at home.

This is not the first time Khan has faced threats from the Bishnoi gang. In 2018, he was sentenced to five years in jail for poaching blackbuck antelopes while filming a movie in Rajasthan. However, his sentence was later suspended on appeal.

The mastermind behind the attack, Lawrence Bishnoi’s younger brother, Anmol, reportedly planned the shooting through a Facebook post traced to Canada. The attackers had been monitoring Khan’s movements for days and rented a room near his apartment for a month before carrying out the attack.

A coordinated effort involving police from multiple states led to the arrest of the suspects, who have been remanded in custody until their next court hearing on 25th April. The city’s crime branch is gathering evidence to prosecute the perpetrators.

Bishnoi, the gang leader, is currently serving a jail sentence for his involvement in several high-profile murder cases. The latest attack on Khan’s home is a reminder of the dangers faced by celebrities in India, who often become targets for criminal organizations seeking vengeance or attention.
