The Salamta Army, a speed-up movement foundation based in the Kpando Municipality, has launched an educational career path initiative for selected basic schools in the area. The Kpando Educational Mentorship Programme 2024 aims to guide and empower the next generation towards fulfilling careers and meaningful contributions to society.

Recognizing the importance of education in shaping individuals and society, the Salamta Army is focused on providing career guidance and exposing students to various career options early on. By doing so, they believe they can contribute to building a skilled and knowledgeable workforce that will drive development not only in Kpando but beyond.

The initiative emphasizes the value of continuous learning and skill development in today’s dynamic job market. Students are encouraged to embrace lifelong learning and adaptability, preparing them for future workplace challenges and opportunities.

The educational career path initiative includes workshops, seminars, and interactive sessions designed to engage students and broaden their understanding of different career fields. Resource persons guide participants on essential skills that benefit themselves, their families, society, and the country as a whole.

Speaking to the media, Dr. George Afeti stressed the importance of attending school with a purpose beyond mere attendance and urged students to make something meaningful out of themselves for the benefit of everyone. Human resource management expert, Esther Hebuame, reminded parents to be resilient and care for their children from childhood to adulthood to ensure they become meaningful contributors to society in the future.

Project coordinator Jemima Osai explained that the initiative aims to enlighten the youth in communities and broaden their educational horizons for informed career choices that will benefit them in the future. This educational mentorship programme is a crucial step towards guiding young minds towards fulfilling and impactful careers.

So far, the initiative has received positive feedback and support from the community, as it plays a vital role in shaping the future workforce and contributing to overall societal development. The Salamta Army’s commitment to empowering the next generation through education and career guidance is commendable and serves as a beacon of hope for the youth in Kpando and beyond.
