Three days before a crucial home match against PSG, in which they seek to overturn a 2-0 first-leg deficit, the Basques’ chances of winning La Liga are now seriously jeopardized following their second straight defeat.

Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri destroyed the Basques early in the game, scoring a brace in two minutes before Sergio Ramos added a third on the 65th.
The visitors had hope when Andre Silva scored a penalty deep into injury time in the first half, but Brais Mendez’s late rally in the second minute of extra time proved insufficient.

With 40 points, Real Sociedad currently sits seventh, while Sevilla is in 14th place with 27.

In the first leg of their most recent last-16 match, PSG defeated Real Sociedad 2-0 to advance to the Champions League quarterfinals. Kylian Mbappe scored the game’s first goal. Two weeks ago, PSG defeated Real Sociedad.
