By the end of 2024, the Ghanaian government plans to build 100 more artificial fields.
The government’s decision was made public by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the formal opening of the recently built Borteyman Sports Complex.
Akufo-Addo began her speech at the event by highlighting the funding the government has allocated for sporting facilities.
Furthermore, ten sports stadiums have been constructed by the government in each of the ten areas of our nation.
As I recently commissioned the Koforidua sports stadium, six of these stadiums—Wa in Upper West, Dunkwa Offin in Central, Axim in Western, Dormaa Ahenkro in Bono, Ho in Volta, and Koforidua in Eastern—are ready.
It is anticipated that the last four will be finished this year. stated President Akufo-Addo.
Before leaving, President Akufo-Addo said that he will be building 100 new pitches.
“At the local level, the government has made significant investments to provide astroturfs for a number of communities around the nation.
“About 150 artificial turf fields have been constructed nationwide by the government thus far. The winner took office in January 2017, which is significant. There were just three public artificial grass areas in Ghana.
“Before the year ends, we hope to construct an additional 100 returns. This once more shows the government’s dedication to building the necessary supply chain infrastructure to create the ideal conditions for Ghanaian sports development.”
