In a recent statement released by the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, the reasons behind the dismissal of Dr John Ofori-Tenkorang as the Director-General of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) have been explained.
Contrary to speculations of misconduct or malfeasance, the Presidency has made it clear that Dr Ofori-Tenkorang’s dismissal was not a result of any wrongdoing. President Akufo-Addo officially ended Dr. Ofori Tenkorang’s tenure on Monday, April 8, and directed him to transfer his responsibilities to Kofi Bosompem Osafo-Maafo by April 15.
The Presidency has emphasized that Dr Ofori-Tenkorang’s departure is part of the ongoing restructuring efforts initiated by President Akufo-Addo. Despite rumors suggesting otherwise, the Presidency maintains that President Akufo-Addo is pleased with Dr Ofori-Tenkorang’s performance and acknowledges the significant transformation that the institution experienced under his leadership.
The decision to dismiss Dr Ofori-Tenkorang is in line with the strategic restructuring agenda set by the government.
This move will bring about positive changes and further enhance the operations of SSNIT under its new leadership.
