The initial batch of Occupy Julorbi House demonstrators have been detained by Ghanaian police.

Ghanaian individuals who had assembled for the anticipated demonstration were apprehended by the police early on September 21, 2023, and taken to the police station.

The police and additional security guards arrived in front of Jubilee House about 6 am.

The Democracy Hub-organized protest was originally scheduled to occur near Jubilee House from September 21 to September 23, 2023.

These preparations had been disclosed to the police in advance.

On September 20, 2023, however, the police said in a statement that they had requested a court order to put an end to the #OccupyJulorbiHouse movement and were awaiting the ruling before taking any further action.

The protest’s organizers responded that they had not been served with any legal notice. They claimed that the police had instead forwarded the papers to their attorneys.
