Patrick Xavier Clark, who is 33 years of age was arrested on Houston’s east side on Thursday night in connection with the death of 28-year-old rapper Takeoff.
Clark has subsequently been charged with murder by the Texas Police Department.
Footage of the shooting which is reported to have taken place over a game of dice was initially not very helpful in identifying the culprit. However, detectives are said to have identified Clark as the fatal shooter by using physical evidence, and a simulation of the incident.
Court records indicate that Clark’s bail has been set at $1 million. Authorities are seeking to place further restrictions on Clark even if his bail is paid. This is likely to include house arrest while the case is still ongoing.
Cameron Joshua, who is 22 years of age has also been arrested in connection with the same incident. He is been charged with possession of a firearm without a permit.
