Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Celebrates 25 Years on Golden Stool
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is celebrating 25 years of peaceful reign in Asanteman and beyond as the 16th occupant of the Golden Stool.
Throughout the week, various events have been organized to commemorate the silver jubilee of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s reign. The Manhyia Palace in Kumasi served as the venue for the grand celebration, attracting a diverse crowd eager to experience the richness of culture and tradition.
Dr. Baffour Osei Hyeaman Brantuo VI, the Otumfuo Manwerehene, shared insights into the challenging process of enstooling Otumfuo Osei Tutu II as the Asantehene. Despite facing complexities and political influences, the kingmakers stood by Otumfuo and upheld the integrity of the traditional enstoolment process.
Reflecting on the significance of the occasion, representatives from various ethnic groups and traditional leaders from Ghana and neighboring West African countries gathered to pay homage to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
