Nkwanta South Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Felix Owusu-Gyimah, was brought to tears as he humbly knelt before the chiefs in the area, pleading for peace to prevail.
In his emotional plea, he stressed the importance of maintaining peace in the municipality, highlighting the detrimental effects of recent violent acts on the development of the area.
As the Chairman of the Municipal Security Council (MUSEC), Mr. Owusu-Gyimah called for unity among stakeholders to support the SOCO project, which aims to promote social cohesion and prevent conflicts. He emphasized that without peace, the progress and prosperity of Nkwanta South would be hindered, urging the chiefs and community leaders to set aside their differences and work towards a common goal of peace and growth.
The Adele Traditional Council, Zongo community, Challa, and the Ntrubo Councils pledged their commitment to ensuring lasting peace and stability in the area to facilitate development. They called on MUSEC to collaborate with them in engaging the people to embrace dialogue over violence.
It is essential for reconciliation to take place for the municipality to move forward as a united community. Mr. Owusu-Gyimah’s heartfelt plea serves as a reminder of the significance of peace in fostering a thriving environment for the residents of Nkwanta South.
