Los Angeles Chargers player Sebastian Joseph-Day has accused Transportation Security Administration (TSA) personnel of sexually assaulting him at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California on Friday.

The defensive lineman, who has previously won a Super Bowl, claimed that while he was going through security checkpoints, one agent touched him inappropriately. When he asked the agent to stop, he was then allegedly swarmed by three more TSA members. Joseph-Day stated that he immediately went to file a complaint, but he was accused of “jumping through hoops to do so.”

In a series of statements on his Twitter page on Friday, Joseph-Day described the incident as “extremely unnecessary and dehumanizing.” He also expressed that he travels frequently for personal and work reasons and has never experienced anything like that at John Wayne Airport. TSA officials stated that they are aware of the allegations and are investigating the claims.

In response to the incident, Joseph-Day stated that he shared it on Twitter not for sympathy but to ensure that the group of personnel and staff involved are not allowed to do this ever again to another human being.

Joseph-Day signed with the Chargers in 2022 after spending his first three seasons in the NFL with the Rams. He has started 54 games in his career, logging eight sacks and 193 total tackles.
