
Neil Kerley, a South Australian legend and member of the Australian Football Hall of Fame, has passed on today(June 29). The football community is currently mourning the death of South Australian legend and the Australian Football Hall of Famer.

Kerley, a two-time SANFL premiership coach, and two-time premiership captain-coach, was killed on Wednesday afternoon when his vehicle crashed through a fence into a paddock while towing a trailer. He is said to have died at age 88.
The 88-year-old Australian played the majority of his matches at West Adelaide, where he was a four-time best and fairest winner.
In the early 60s, he served as captain-coach for South Adelaide and Glenelg. Kerley, also known as Knuckles, King, and Kerls, played 32 games for South Australia, including six as captain, and retired as an Australian Football Hall of Fame member and South Australian Football Hall of Famer.
Kerley’s playing career lasted 17 years, while his coaching career lasted decades.
