According to several sources, Melanie Rauscher, a contestant on “Naked and Afraid,” died in Arizona under unusual circumstances. Her body was just found adjacent to dust-cleaning cans.
Melanie, who appeared in two seasons of the popular Discovery Channel series, was dog-sitting at a residence in Prescott, Arizona while the owners were away, according to Corey Kasun, a spokeswoman for the Prescott Police Department.
According to Kasun, on July 17, when the homeowners returned, they found Melanie dead on the bed in the guest room.
Reports indicate that several compressed air cans, the kind used to dust down computers, were found adjacent to her body. Melanie’s consumption of the contents of the cans is shrouded in mystery.
However, the police have determined that her death was not an accident and have ruled foul play as a cause of her death as they claim there is not sufficient evidence to support such a claim.
