The National Democratic Congress (NDC) recently introduced their running mate for the 2024 elections, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.

At the event held at the UPSA Auditorium, she made it clear that her potential vice presidency would be distinct from Dr. Bawumia’s tenure.

Professor Kobby Mensah, a Political Marketing Analyst, commended Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang for delivering a bold but straightforward message to the party and the nation.

As the former Minister of Education and the first female Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), she used her academic background to communicate effectively.

During her speech, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang expressed unwavering support for the NDC flagbearer, John Mahama.

She also took a swipe at Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for his previous statement about being a “driver’s mate.”

According to Prof. Kobby Mensah, it was crucial for Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang to differentiate her vice presidential candidacy from her potential vice presidential governance if the NDC wins power.

By making these distinctions, she allowed people to understand how she plans to fulfill her role in the government.

Overall, Prof. Kobby Mensah described Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang’s performance as “stellar” and emphasized her commitment to being a complement to the presidential candidate rather than a passive vice president.

The event marked an important moment in the lead-up to the 2024 elections, with Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang setting a clear and confident tone for her potential vice presidency.
