Most of Asante Kotoko players are inexperienced – Ex-captain Amos Frimpong claims

Amos Frimpong, a former captain of Asante Kotoko, has pointed to the inexperience of players as a major factor in the club’s poor performance in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors have been struggling in the domestic league and currently find themselves in 11th place with 33 points.

In their last seven games, Kotoko has suffered six defeats and only managed to secure a single point. This decline in form has been a stark contrast to their early season form, where they were considered title contenders. The team now faces the possibility of dropping into the relegation zone as they are only five places away with eight games remaining in the season.

Frimpong, who has been closely following Kotoko’s matches this season, highlighted the lack of experience in the current squad as a key issue.

He recalled watching a game where former player Prince Acquah, now with Nations FC, faced off against Kotoko. Frimpong noted that players like Acquah, who have been through various situations in their careers, have an advantage over the current Kotoko players who lack such experience.

While Frimpong acknowledged that there are talented players in the team, he emphasized that many of them are inexperienced and have not faced challenges like the ones they are encountering now. This lack of experience, according to Frimpong, has contributed to Kotoko’s recent poor performances.
