Former Asante Kotoko captain, Amos Frimpong, has spoken out about the struggles the club is facing in the Ghana Premier League, pointing to division among fans as a major factor.

The team, known as the Porcupine Warriors, has been performing poorly in the league and currently sits in 11th place with 33 points.

In their last seven games, Kotoko has suffered six defeats and only managed to secure a single point. This decline in form has been alarming, with the team going from being title contender to fighting for survival in the league. With just eight games left in the season, they are teetering dangerously close to the relegation zone.

Frimpong, who used to lead the team on the field, highlighted the lack of unity among fans as a key issue affecting the team’s performance.

“I see there is no unity among the supporters and it is really causing the team as a whole,” he said in an interview with Guide Radio.

The former captain explained that fans are divided between supporting the past management and the current management, creating discord that is impacting the players on the pitch.
