In a bizarre twist of events, social media influencer Mona Faiz Montrage, known as Mona 4Reall, has been extradited from the United Kingdom to the United States on charges related to a twisted lonely hearts scam.

Montrage, once boasting approximately 3.4 million Instagram followers under the name Hajia4Reall, is accused of orchestrating a scheme in collaboration with a group of West African con artists.

Operating under false identities, the perpetrators used emails, texts, and social media messages to create the illusion of romantic relationships with unsuspecting victims.

Leveraging emotions, they manipulated their targets into transferring funds under false pretenses, including fictional scenarios such as gold transportation and resolving bogus FBI investigations.

According to court documents, Montrage allegedly deceived a victim into sending $89,000 through 82 wire transfers, claiming it was to support her father’s farm in Ghana.

This peculiar case highlights the potential dangers of online interactions and the need for caution when engaging with strangers on social media.

The legal proceedings will uncover the full extent of the scam and seek justice for the individuals who fell victim to this bewildering web of deception.
