Michael John “Mick” Gordon (born 9 July 1985) is a composer and sound designer from Australia who mostly writes music for video games. He has worked in the sector since 2002.
In the Doom world, he is most known for creating soundtracks for Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal. LawBreakers, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, Prey, and the first and second seasons of the 2013 fighting game Killer Instinct are among the other video games Gordon has scored for.
Gordon began his career as a sound designer with Pandemic Studios, where he also provided good design to Destroy All Humans! 2. His association with Bethesda began with MachineGames’ action-adventure first-person shooter Wolfenstein: The New Order.
Gordon created the music and soundtrack for Doom, a science fiction first-person shooter successor to the 1993 game published by id Software, in 2016. His composition for Doom was nominated for a DICE Award for Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition, an SXSW Gaming Award for Excellence in Musical Score, The Game Awards’ Best Music/Sound Design, and a BAFTA Games Award for Best Music.
