Mario Pašalić, a professional footballer for both the Croatian national team and Serie A team Atalanta, was born in Croatia on February 9, 1995.
Before moving to Chelsea in 2014 for an estimated £3 million, he began his career at Hajduk Split. Chelsea then loaned him to Elche, Monaco, Milan, Spartak Moscow, and Elche after Atalanta. He spent the 2018–2020 and 2020–21 seasons with the Bergamasque club before signing a permanent contract prior to the 2020–21 campaign.
Prior to joining the Hajduk Split youth program in 2006, Pašalić played for NK GOK Katel Gomilica. Despite playing in the middle of the field, he scored 17 goals for the under-17 squad and the game-winning goal for the under-19 team in a 3-2 victory over Hrvatski Dragovoljac, clinching the club’s championship trophy. He is a youth international.
