María Mercedes Coroy was born September 3, 1994. Maria is a well-known actress in Guatemala. Coroy spent his childhood in Santa Maria de Jess, Guatemala, where he was born. She is also fluent in Spanish and can communicate in a limited capacity in Poqomam Mayan.
Jayro Bustamante was the one who found Coroy when she answered an open casting call. She is most well-known for her parts in the films “Ixcanul” and “La Llorona” directed by Bustamante. Coroyrepresented Quetzaltenango at the 2019 Venice Film Festival with a costume that was representative of the region. Coroyfirst appearance in a Marvel film was in 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, in which she played Namor’s mother. This was her introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
