Mali is currently facing a challenge with refueling commercial aircraft in its capital Bamako due to fuel shortages, according to the transport ministry.
The ministry spokesperson, Ould Mamouni, stated on Tuesday night that the increased flight operations have impacted the fuel stock availability.
As a result, airlines are being advised to refuel in neighboring countries until the situation in Mali improves.
The National Civil Aviation Agency in Mali has issued a notice to airlines, including Turkish Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines, informing them of the fuel shortage situation at President Modibo Keita-Senou International Airport.
The measure is expected to last from July 9 to July 15, during which airlines are requested to make alternative refueling arrangements outside of Mali.
This temporary restriction is aimed at managing the limited fuel supply and ensuring the smooth operation of commercial flights in and out of Bamako.
