On Friday evening, February 9, 2024, in the United States, Dr. Wigwe lost his life in a helicopter crash. He shared a body with six individuals, including his deceased kid and wife.
In a Facebook post, Mr. Mahama expressed his sympathies to the families of the other victims and said it was hard to accept Dr. Wigwe’s passing.
“It’s hard to accept the terrible accident that killed my good friend Herbert Wigwe, his wife, and their son, along with three other people.”
The Facebook post said, “My sympathies go out to the families of those who perished in the tragic accident and our thoughts are with Herbert’s surviving children and the families of all who died,”
Mr. Mahama continued his eulogy, describing the dead as a bright young man who was headed for success.
He emphasized that the fact that Access Bank is a well-known brand throughout the world is not surprising. He emphasized that people would always remember the deceased’s legacy in the banking and finance industries.
“I had the honor of getting to know Herbert better in 2009 when he established the Access Bank branch in Ghana.
“He struck me as a bright, driven young man who was moving up the social ladder quickly. This is demonstrated by the way Access Bank has developed into a well-known international brand.
“In the banking and finance industries, Herbert’s legacy will never fade. RIP,” he wailed.
