Mahama criticises govt’s performance tracker, says it’s not evidence-based

Former President John Dramani Mahama has criticized the government’s recently launched Performance Tracker, dismissing the listed projects as mere fantasies.

Speaking during his ‘Building the Ghana We Want’ tour in Nalerigu, Mr. Mahama compared the tracker to the NDC’s Green Book, suggesting that the tracker does not accurately reflect the government’s achievements.

“They have come with something they call a performance tracker, and they are retracting some of the things. They say 67 were put in error, and the performance tracker has things that the district assembly should be doing, toilets. We built a toilet here, we built a toilet there. You know,” Mahama stated.

He went on to highlight the credibility of the NDC’s Green Book, stating that every project listed in the book actually exists in Ghana. Mahama challenged the media to find a single project in the Green Book that does not exist, emphasizing that no retractions were necessary when the book was published.

Furthermore, Mahama criticized the government for allegedly using photos from Dubai to portray projects in Ghana, specifically mentioning the University of Ghana Medical Center. He claimed that the government’s actions insinuate that they do not have tangible achievements to showcase.
