The funeral of the first woman secretary of state of the United States of America, Madeleine Albright was held on April 27, 2022, at the Washington National Cathedral.
Madeleine Albright died on March 23, 2022. She had served as the secretary of state from 1997 to 2001 under former president Bill Clinton.
She was a diplomat and political scientist and also a member of the Democratic party.
Madeleine Albright was born in Czechoslovakia but later moved to the US when she was 11 years old. She was born on May 15, 1937, to Czech diplomats, Josef Korbel, and Anna Korbel.
For her college education, Madeleine Albright went to Wellesley College and then later to Johns Hopkins University.
The funeral which was televised on major American television channels attracted top dignitaries and political figures, including former Presidents and First Ladies.
Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton were present at the ceremony to show their last respect.
While eulogizing her, Secretary Clinton, who appeared in an episode of CBS’ Madame Secretary alongside Albright stated: “The angels better be wearing their best pins and putting on their dancing shoes.
“Because if, as Madeleine believed, there’s a special place in hell for women who don’t support other women, they haven’t seen anyone like her yet.”
