Gilbert Jeremy Gottfried, an American actor and stand-up comedian, is dead. He passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022, aged 67.
Gilbert Gottfried’s family confirmed his death via a tweet on Tuesday.
The Twitter statement said: “We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Gilbert Gottfried after a long illness.”
The family described him as “the most iconic voice in comedy” as well as a “wonderful husband, brother, friend and father to his two young children.”
“Although today is a sad day for us all, please keep laughing as possible in Gilbert’s honor,” his family added in the statement.
The statement didn’t reveal his cause of death.
