Prior to the club’s La Liga debut on Saturday, Jules Kounde has not been registered by Barcelona, although the team has registered four other new recruits.
The Catalan club is currently experiencing severe financial difficulties, and they have been unable to sign new players due to internal conflicts and big money problems.
However, they have now signed Robert Lewandowski, Franck Kessie, Raphinha, and Andreas Christensen.
Barcelona was able to register them after earning £85 million from the sale of 24.5% of Barca Studios to Orpehus Media.
However, they will be without Kounde, who joined the team in a deal worth about £45 million after they scuttled Chelsea’s attempt to sign him.
The centre-back had previously appeared set to move from Sevilla to Stamford Bridge.
In addition to signing new contracts, Ousmane Dembele and Sergi Roberto have also been added to the roster as Barcelona prepares to meet Rayo Vallecano at Camp Nou on Saturday night.
Kounde, a France international who joined Sevilla from Bordeaux in his home country three years ago for just over £25 million, has emerged as one of the most talented young central defenders in the major European leagues in recent years, but he is no longer permitted to represent Barcelona.
