On Saturday night, March 9, 2024, Krystyna Pyszková of the Czech Republic won the title of Miss World in an incredible event hosted in India.
The competition was held in Mumbai, the financial and entertainment capital of India, where Yasmina Zaytoun, an athlete from Lebanon, placed first runner-up out of 112 competitors.
“It is an amazing honor to be called Miss World. Pyszkova thanked God for the opportunity to represent her nation and the principles of “beauty with a purpose” to a global audience.
At the Jio World Convention Center, Pyszková waved to the sizable audience and gave a few embraces to some of the other competitors as the crown was passed from the reigning Miss World, Karoline Bielawska of Poland.

Clad in intricately embroidered skirts and blouses, the competitors danced to popular Bollywood songs. The beauty contest returned to India for the first time in 28 years.
After Poland’s Karoline Bielawska, the reigning Miss World handed the crown to Pyszková, who waved to the large crowd at the Jio World Convention Center and shared a few embraces with some of the other contestants.
Indian textiles, arts & crafts, rituals, and rich cultural legacy were showcased to a large international audience. Despite making it to the last eight, Indian competitor Sini Shetty was eliminated.
Priyanka Chopra (2000), Manushi Chillar (2017), Aishwarya Rai (1994), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mookhey (1999), and Reita Faria (1966) are the six Indian women who have won the title. The presenters of the 71st Miss World beauty event included Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar and the Philippines’ 2013 Miss World winner, Megan Young.
