Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital set to ban social media access during working hours

The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital has implemented measures to improve the quality of health care and patient safety.

One such measure is the disabling of the hospital’s computer systems to prevent staff from accessing social media during working hours. The move is intended to keep staff focused on their patients and to ensure they provide the best possible care. The hospital, which serves as a referral center, cannot afford to have the lives of its patients jeopardized.

The CEO of the hospital, Professor Otchere Addai-Mensah, stated that the hospital has blocked access to YouTube and other social media platforms to prevent staff from losing concentration on patient care through the use of such platforms.

The CEO made these comments during a department and division heads’ end-of-year performance review conference in Kumasi. The hospital’s administration is committed to improving patient safety and comfort and is implementing various interventions to achieve this goal. This move is just one of the many measures the hospital has taken to ensure that its staff is focused on providing quality care to its patients.
