Buem Member of Parliament, Kofi Adams, has not held back in his criticism of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, accusing them of mismanaging the economy.
Specifically, Adams pointed fingers at Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who also serves as the flagbearer of the party, for failing to properly manage the economy as the head of the economic management team.
During a discussion on TV3’s Key Points, Adams referenced a Global Info Analytics survey that revealed former President John Dramani Mahama was ahead of Dr. Bawumia. According to the survey, 36 percent of individuals affiliated with the NPP believe that Dr. Bawumia has failed, with an additional five percent expressing uncertainty. Adams suggested combining the five percent of unsure individuals with the 36 percent who believe in the failure, resulting in a total of 41 percent who feel that the government has mismanaged the economy.
“It is not surprising that they rate Mahama highly and predict his success in the upcoming elections,” Adams remarked.
The survey indicated that John Mahama polled at 54.3 percent, while Dr. Bawumia stood at 34.6 percent. Alan Kyerematen from the Movement for Change garnered 7.5 percent, and Nana Kwame Bediako from the New Force received 2.3 percent of the votes.
Global InfoAnalytics shared data from the Central region highlighting that 94 percent of NPP voters plan to vote for Dr. Bawumia, while 3 percent support Alan Kyerematen and 1 percent for Nana Kwame Bediako. Among NDC supporters, 96 percent intend to vote for John Mahama and 2 percent for Dr. Bawumia.
Floating voters showed a preference for John Mahama at 54 percent, Dr. Bawumia at 23 percent, Alan Kyerematen at 2 percent, and Nana Kwame Bediako at 6 percent.
