The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is not taking anything for granted as they prepare for the upcoming 2024 general elections.
Buem Member of Parliament Kofi Adams has made it clear that the party is not going to sit back and relax just because recent polls have been in their favor.
According to Adams, the NDC is committed to “saving this country” from what he describes as “economic mismanagement” by the current Akufo-Addo administration. He pointed to a Global Info Analytics survey that showed former President John Dramani Mahama leading Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in popularity.
The poll results indicated that John Mahama had 54.3 percent support, while Bawumia trailed behind with 34.6 percent. Alan Kyerematen of the Movement for Change had 7.5 percent, and Nana Kwame Bediako of the New Force party managed to secure 2.3 percent.
Speaking on TV3’s Key Points, Kofi Adams highlighted that a significant portion of NPP supporters believed that Bawumia had failed, with 36 percent expressing this view. Additionally, five percent were undecided. Adams emphasized that the NPP had mismanaged the economy, making the poll results not surprising.
Despite the favorable polling data, Adams made it clear that the NDC is not complacent. He stated, “Not at all. we are not sleeping over favorable reports, we have the country to rescue.”
