23 new veterinarians have entered the field after graduating from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology’s School of Veterinary Medicine.
After completing their six years of professional study at KNUST, the inductees are now able to refer to themselves as fully-fledged Doctors of Veterinary Medicine.
The ceremony serves as a rite of passage for veterinarians who want to treat animals humanely, prevent animal cruelty, and promote ethical standards in the field.
Prof. Christian Agyare, provost of the College of Health Sciences, cautioned the graduates to exercise caution when using social media.
He also suggested that they take use of the housemanship period to look at other possibilities.
Dr. Daniel Abiliba Baba urged his colleagues to positively advance the profession while pleading with the government to make it easier for veterinarians to institutionalize housemanship.
Dr. Jonathan Amakye-Anim stated that the council is attempting to include housemen in the pay scale for the civil sector.
The valedictorian was announced to be Dr. Jacob Achumboro Ayang.
