Kevin Michael Costner is an actor, producer, film director, and musician from the United States. Among his many honors are two Academy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Costner won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for his role as Devil Anse Hatfield in the miniseries Hatfields & McCoys (2012).

Costner’s character was Alex, a friend who committed suicide, which is the event that brings the rest of the cast together. Costner knew director Lawrence Kasdan, who promised him a role in a future project.
