Kang Ji-young, also known as JY or Jiyoung, is a South Korean singer and actress who lives in Japan. She was born on January 18, 1994. She is a member of the girl group Kara from South Korea.

Kang Ji-young was born in Paju, South Korea, on January 18, 1994. She is the cousin of K-pop singer NS Yoon-G, and her siblings are Kang Ji-soo and Kang Ji-Eun.
She graduated from Muhak Women’s High School in February 2012 after attending Bongilcheon Middle School.
Following the departure of former member Kim Sung-hee, Jiyoung and Hara joined the girl group Kara in 2008. At the time, she was 14 years old, making her the youngest member of the group.
In 2011’s CDTV Japan’s Favorite Female Artist Ranking, Jiyoung ranked number 21, making her the only Korean female singer to do so.
She announced on January 15, 2014, that she would leave the group when her contract expired in April 2014 to concentrate on her acting and language skills studies in London. She joined the group again in 2022 for their 15th-anniversary promotions.
