Former President John Dramani Mahama is set to deliver a keynote address at the upcoming Afro-heritage Conference and Awards in Lagos, Nigeria.
The event aims to celebrate individuals of African descent who have excelled in their respective fields and have made significant contributions to society.
The inaugural edition of the conference was held in Kigali, Rwanda, and now Lagos has been chosen as the host city for the second edition. The Chairperson of the AfriHeritage 2024 is His Excellency, Lt. Gen. Dr Seretse Khama lan Khama, the former President of Botswana.
Lagos, known as the Centre of Excellence, was selected as the venue for the event due to Nigeria’s reputation as the Giant of Africa. The country has consistently demonstrated excellence and has been at the forefront of promoting pan-African economic development.
During his speech, John Mahama is expected to advocate for increased investment in young people in Africa.
He believes that supporting the youth and fostering innovation will lead to developments that positively impact the lives of ordinary citizens across the continent.
