As required by Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will give the State of the Nation Address (SONA) before Parliament on Tuesday, February 27.
During his speech, the president is anticipated to give updates on several topics, including infrastructure, governance, education, health, security, and anti-corruption initiatives.
The address will also include a summary of the government’s main policy goals for the year and specifics on how to improve the state of the economy.
The President’s planned speech in Parliament was announced earlier in February by Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, who was the Majority Leader at the time.
“Mr. Speaker, by Article 67 of the Constitution, H.E. the President will deliver a message on the State of the Nation on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. Honourable Members are urged to be present for this important event” he added.
President Akufo-Addo’s final speech to the legislature before his tenure ends is the one that is about to take place.
