Joan Copeland died in her sleep early Tuesday January 4, at her Manhattan home on Central Park West, according to her son, Eric.
Joan Copeland, the actress and sibling of famed playwright Arthur Miller, died after a six-decade Broadway career that included roles in Detective Story and Pal Joey. She was 99 years old.
Copeland was a founding member of The Actors Studio and worked on various daytime soap operas.
She starred as twins Maggie and Kay on CBS’ Love of Life from 1960 to 1963, and as the villain Andrea Whiting on CBS’ Search for Tomorrow from 1967 to 1972.
She also featured on CBS’ The Edge of Night, NBC’s How to Survive a Marriage, CBS’ As the World Turns, and ABC’ One Life to Live.
