William James Remar is an American actor. Remar was the star of the 1986 film Quiet Cool (1986) and was cast as Corporal Hicks in the science-fiction/horror film Aliens (1986), but due to drug-related issues, he was fired and replaced by Michael Biehn shortly after filming began.

From 2009 to 2012, Remar was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series: Dexter. In 2012, Remar received the Saturn Award for Lifetime Achievement.

In the animated television series Ben 10: Alien Force and Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, Remar replaced Steve Blum as Vilgax. In 2010, Remar appeared as a guest star on Private Practice, playing a doctor named Gibby who works with Doctors Without Borders.
