Memphis Grizzlies point guard, Ja Morant, has spoken out in defense of his actions during a recent incident at his sister’s volleyball game. Morant’s sister, Kailey, was playing in a game when a player from the opposing team made contact with her, causing her to fall and hit her head.

Morant, who was in attendance, immediately rushed onto the court to check on his sister and confront the player responsible for the collision. The incident was captured on video and quickly went viral on social media.

In a statement, Morant defended his actions, stating that he was simply concerned for his sister’s safety and well-being. He emphasized that he did not intend to harm anyone and that his actions were a natural response to seeing his sister injured.

The incident has sparked a debate about safety in youth sports, with some arguing that parents and family members should not be allowed to intervene in games.  As punishment for displaying a pistol at a Colorado strip club earlier this month, Morant is presently serving an eight-game ban.
