She made history by being the first African-American woman in over 50 years to win the Academy Award for best-supporting actress.

According to Ms. Goldberg, the Holocaust was about man’s inhumanity to man, not a race.
When one of her co-hosts interrupted that the Holocaust was motivated by white racism, Ms. Goldberg said they were two white groups of people involved in the whole situation hence it couldn’t be about race.
She added that it was only white people murdering white people hence white people were supposed to fight against themselves in this situation to settle scores.

Goldberg later apologized on Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show on February 1, indicating that as a Black person, she considers racial hatred to be based on skin tone.

She apologized again at the outset of The View on February 2, 2022. She apologized for her words, stating she recognized they were inaccurate and that she had misspoken.
How did social media users react to Whoopi Goldberg’s Holocaust comment?
Ms. Goldberg’s words sparked a furious outcry. Jewish organizations condemned her remarks as dangerous and the latest evidence of spreading misunderstanding regarding the Nazi slaughter.
Many online users tore her apart on platforms like Twitter and Instagram because of her ignorance. Many called her the racist the world instead and made derogatory statements against her.
It was a day to forget for the award-winning star.
During World War II, the Nazis slaughtered six million Jews, almost one-third of the world’s Jewish population as part of a strategy of mass extermination because they considered Jews were an inferior race.
Is Whoopi Goldberg being canceled?
Kim Godwin, president of ABC News, issued a statement on 2 February 2022 stating that Ms. Goldberg will be suspended for her misguided and insensitive statements.
This statement means Whoopi is not actually fired from The View, but per our investigations, she has been given two weeks suspension to reflect on her statements and get herself together.
Hopefully, this decision will heal our Jewish colleagues, friends, family, and communities.
It is worth to also note that she is yet to get on the hooks of the cancel culture. Unlike other celebrities, she has been treated fairly and is not likely to be canceled.
She is widely loved and has crazy followers as well, which will make it hard for her to be canceled.
