Daniel Edward Aykroyd is a Canadian actor, comedian, producer, musician, and writer. On Saturday Night Live, Aykroyd was one of the original “Not Ready for Prime Time Players” (1975–1979).
During his time on SNL, Aykroyd appeared in a recurring series of sketches about the Coneheads and the Blues Brothers. Aykroyd received five Primetime Emmy Award nominations for his work on the show, winning Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series in 1977. Aykroyd has returned in guest roles since his departure.

Following his breakthrough performance as Bluto in National Lampoon’s Animal House (1978), Belushi went on to appear in films such as 1941, The Blues Brothers, and Neighbors.
He also pursued musical interests, co-creating The Blues Brothers with Aykroyd, Lou Marini, Tom Malone, Steve Cropper, Donald “Duck” Dunn, and Paul Shaffer, which led to the successful film of the same name.
