Joyce Bawah Mogtari, who serves as the Special Aide to former President John Dramani Mahama, has strongly denied allegations suggesting that she benefitted from a scholarship from the Ghanaian government during her academic pursuits.
The claims, reportedly propagated by some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on various social media platforms, aim to tarnish Mogtari’s reputation and that of her family, she asserts.
In response to these accusations, Mogtari categorically refuted ever receiving a government scholarship, emphasizing that the allegations are unfounded and intended to provoke public disapproval towards her.
Taking to social media on Saturday, April 13, Mogtari urged the public to dismiss these baseless claims, reiterating that she has never been a recipient of a government scholarship in Ghana.
Furthermore, she clarified that she has never been enrolled as a student at Portsmouth University, dismissing another facet of the misinformation campaign targeting her integrity.
Mogtari stated, “Disregard the propaganda and falsehood being peddled by the dishonest NPP apparatchiks that I benefited from a Government of Ghana Scholarship. Let me state without any fear of equivocation or contradiction that I have never applied for or received a grant or scholarship from either the GNPC or Ghana’s Scholarship Secretariat.”
She further emphasized, “And for the avoidance of doubt, I have never been a student of the Portsmouth University.”
It is crucial to note that the dissemination of inaccurate information can have detrimental effects on individuals’ credibility and integrity, and it is essential to verify the authenticity of claims before spreading them.
