Robert Marvin Hull OC was a Canadian ice hockey player widely regarded as one of the all-time greats.

Hull earned the nickname “The Golden Jet” because of his blonde hair, skating speed, end-to-end rushes, and ability to shoot the puck at high speeds. Hull’s abilities were such that an opposing player was frequently assigned solely to shadow him.

Hull played for the Chicago Black Hawks, Winnipeg Jets, and Hartford Whalers during his 23-year NHL and WHA career. Hull won the Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s most valuable player twice and the Art Ross Trophy as the league’s leading point scorer three times, all while helping the Black Hawks win the Stanley Cup in 1961.
