Game of Thrones is an HBO fantasy drama series developed by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. It is based on George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire trilogy, the first of which is A Game of Thrones.

The show was shot in the United Kingdom, Canada, Croatia, Iceland, Malta, Morocco, and Spain. It started on HBO in the United States on April 17, 2011, and concluded on May 19, 2019, with 73 episodes shown across eight seasons.

Game of Thrones includes a big ensemble cast and covers various story arcs throughout the program, which is set on the mythical continents of Westeros and Essos.

How many people trained Arya Stark in ‘Game of Thrones’?

She was trained in Eskrima (also known as “Arnis” or “Kali”), a martial art that involves the use of sticks, knives, and homemade weapons.

Of course, Williams’ Arya does not utilize Eskrima to fight the Night King’s undead army. In GRRM’s sandbox universe, the Philippine Islands do not exist. According to Game of Thrones stunt coordinator Rowley Irlam, the show’s fight choreographers taught Williams an altered version.

“Kali is a style that we drew from,” Irlam explains to Inverse. “Because my team is made up of martial artists and weapons experts from all over the world, we draw from every style we can.” Filipino stick work, as well as double sword work, are unquestionably among them for this performance.”

Arya, caught in a real tight place, divides her new spear (made by her friend-with-benefits, Gendry, a weapons smith) into two “sticks” that allow her to be more agile in close quarters, displaying Williams’ FMA training.
