While sleeping in his Las Vegas hotel room, Michael Farchi, a male guest, was stung by a scorpion on his testicles.
On December 26, 2023, while visiting The Venetian, Farchi, a resident of California, was stung in bed.
“When the scorpion bit me, it felt like someone was stabbing me in my intimate area,” Farchi remarked. It had a similar feeling to a knife or a sharp glass.
Farchi went straight to the restroom to find the source of the unbearable pain. At the time, he and his family were staying at the Sin City resort, where rooms cost an average of $400 per night. He claimed to have seen a scorpion hanging on his underwear when he went to the bathroom.
He was in “a lot of pain,” so he took a few pictures of the vivid orange thing hanging from his briefs before going to the hospital.
“Everybody was in shock; nobody believed,” he said. “Even I found it to be astounding.”
Farchi is thinking about taking legal action after lodging a complaint with the hotel prior to departure.
A representative for The Venetian released a statement, saying, “We can confirm that the resort’s protocols were followed in this incident.”
