The recent power outages (dumsor) experienced in parts of the Greater Accra Region have been attributed to a heavy rainstorm by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

In a statement released on Tuesday, April 23, ECG informed its customers in the region that the rainstorm had caused disruptions within the distribution network.

The power distributor reassured affected customers that their engineers are working diligently to restore power supply in the affected areas. Customers experiencing outages were advised to contact ECG’s call center on 0302611611 for assistance.

Additionally, affected customers can also report issues to the nearest ECG office or reach out to the company via their social media handle, @ECGghOfficial. ECG expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by the natural occurrence and assured customers of their commitment to resolving the situation promptly.

The statement from ECG included a photograph capturing the impact of the rainstorm on the distribution network, emphasizing the challenges faced by the power distributor in restoring normalcy.
