Former Hearts of Oak striker Kofi Kordzi has emphasized the importance of the club signing experienced players and adding a few youngsters as they gear up for the new season.
In an interview on Asempa FM, Kordzi expressed his belief that bringing in more senior players would not only showcase the club as one of the biggest in the country but also establish authority within the team. He highlighted the impact of having big names who can lead and guide the younger players in the squad.
According to Kordzi, having a good balance of experienced and young players is crucial for the team’s success. He recommended that Hearts of Oak should bring in six or seven senior players and blend them with two or three young talents to create a competitive squad for the upcoming season.
Kordzi drew comparisons to the glory days of Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, emphasizing the significant players that represented these clubs in the past. He noted that the current ratio of young to senior players in the team can lead to a lack of control on the field.
As Hearts of Oak make preparations for the new season, they have already secured the signings of goalkeeper Benjamin Asare and Michael Boateng from Nations FC. These acquisitions, along with potential additions of experienced players, could be pivotal in shaping the team’s performance in the upcoming campaign.
With the season set to kick off in September, Kordzi’s advice serves as a reminder of the importance of balance and experience in building a competitive and successful team. Hearts of Oak will look to make strategic signings to strengthen their squad and make a strong statement in the upcoming season.
