Ghana’s Green Ghana Day Initiative has proven to be a huge success since its inception in 2021, according to Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Samuel Abu Jinapor. A total of 42 million trees have been planted across the nation, exceeding the set targets each year.
With the aim of creating a greener environment, the initiative has gained significant momentum and is set to continue growing. This year’s Green Ghana Day, scheduled for June 7, aims to plant an additional 10 million trees.
Speaking at the launch event for the 2024 Green Ghana Day in Tamale, Minister Jinapor emphasized the importance of collective effort in ensuring the success of the exercise. He thanked all Ghanaians and residents of Ghana for their support in achieving the impressive feat of 42 million trees planted over the last three years.
